Out of Boredom

Break time

It's holiday for now and it'll be a long one. Exam just ended last week and it was a huge relief, it lasted for 3 weeks and it finally ended! The excitement after exam was great, went out for a buffet dinner with classmates at night and totally enjoyed it. The celebration continues to the following day and we watched Pirates of the Caribbean, great movie, recommended. It doesn't last long however before boredom comes. Of course, holiday is a lot better than studying for exams but I don't know what to do! PSP and anime just can't keep me occupied. I tend to get hooked up doing other stuff during exam period which I normally won't do during my free time, weird eh? Then when exam is over, I forgot bout those nonsense activities. Everything which seems to be boring to me during holiday tends to get interesting during exam period, what a distraction. Anyhow, it's over for now, I don't know if I did well or not; hopefully yes.

That marks the end of my first year study, it's pretty fast I'd say. 2 years, 4 semester to go. Looking back, I didn't get to know a lot of people during my very first day/week in uni, most of them were friends since their foundation year and they tend to group together. The barrier didn't last long and now I have a group of friends together, studying is never fun without them, it's true. You wouldn't want to just attend classes and then that's it, you head back to home right after that and it goes on and on and on; boring right? A lot of things happened during the 2 sem of study period and I learned a lot, both in terms of social and study life. I'm sure the following years won't be easy.

For now at least I can look forward to Singapore trip with classmates! It's in 3 weeks time and it's been a long time since I've been to SG. Universal studio here I comeeeee~!

One of the tutorial class got canceled today because Mr.A's (Accounting lecturer) on medical leave and he texted me this morning to inform me about it.

Before Mr.A's tutorial, we have statistics class and Mrs.B will be the one teaching it.

Being the so called class rep, I posted it on facebook @ my class's group page and forwarded the message to my classmates telling them that Mr.A's class will be canceled today.

..and I got several reply asking me whether statistics class is on or not...(???) and I had to be Mr.Obvious telling them "yes"..hahaha

Had curry noodle for lunch just now and I don't know why, I can't seem to find any nice shop selling curry noodles in my area.

Went back home and took a bath right after lunch.

Wanted to do revision but my friend name flu is with me right now and he's such a playful guy so I can't concentrate on my study.

Exam's in another 2 week and it'll last for 3 weeks, that makes it 5 weeks before my holiday.

Since it's just noodle, I'm thinking what's for dinner already.

Friend's going badminton later, should I join them? But most probably not.

Going PC fair tomorrow at klcc, gonna get myself another external hardisk. =p

Semester 2 is really a busy one. Since early March till now, it's like assignments marathon and finally I'm done with 80% of it. Submitted 4 of them last month and 2 more for April. This coming Monday will the the due date for 1 of it but I promised myself that I'm gonna finish everything and print it out in library today and I DID it, yeah...1 more to go which is due in another 2 weeks time but 50% done with it. Early May will be exam month and it'll last for 3 weeks. 3 weeks exam is damn long but on the bright side, I'll have more time to study for it and afterthat will be a long long long holiday.

Laptop is giving me problem again. It seems like I can't bring my laptop out now because because....cause...I don't even know the problem! I guess something inside my laptop is loose, so if i put it in my backpack and bring it out to the library, I'll have a freaking hard time trying to boot it up. There's light on the power screen panel but the display just won't show up. I'm at home now and everything seems fine, so...I don't think the laptop will ever leave the room again. Why not send to warranty? Feels weird not having a laptop in my room for me to surf the net so just let it be for the time being. You're not leaving the room unless I'm going back to hometown and please behave yourself properly, pretty please~?!

Heading back to KL tomorrow morning. Spent nearly 1 week at Taiping and it wasn't that bad but barely touched my assignments. Well, at least I did a bit today during noon before going back, haha. A bit as in like 30%, still ok i guess, better than not doing anything. Hopefully get to finish everything by this week since I'll most probably meeting up with classmates over the weekend at uni and yeah, it's gonna be productive...it will be, or rather it must be. Met up with MK, kok and Jason at Taiping and not just for a drink but we went to CC, suprisingly. No we didn't dota, we were called for duty instead, lol. I rarely play COD, don't really like it but since that's the only game they play so I had no choice, play till headache cause....I think the graphics is too great, also 4 people chasing each other in freaking huge maps is not cool and to make things worst, I'm not sooo familiar with the map compare to games like CS.

Besides that, most of the time I'm stuck here in my room watching anime without 24/7 access to the internet which for me is a big problem cause it's like addiction ya know, 1 day without internet is a big nono. Watched "Tokyo Magnitude 8.0" and it was a great anime. I had this anime for quite some time already but didn't get the chance to watch but suddenly thought of it cause of the recent earthquake in Japan which is indeed saddening. Same goes for TM 8, great anime and it's just 11 episodes. Can finish it in like 3 hours+? Definitely worth to watch, try it ;).

Looks the the situation in Japan is getting worst from what I read in BBC news. There's a lot of uncertainty as to the current situation in the nuclear reactor plant. Whether there will be immediate danger or not, that I don't know but I guess nobody knows. The situation may be under control for today but it might be a different story altogether tomorrow. However for those people who are working now to keep the situation under control especially those who are on the front line risking their life exposing themselves to the radiation, they are definitely brave. There's this guy whos planning to leave Tokyo to keep his children safe and this airline company quoted him a price of 700,000 yen for a flight to London, it's roughly RM 27,000 @.@

2 more days of classes before 1 week of holidays. Been looking forward to this 1 week break even though CNY break wasn't that long ago. At the very least I can take a break from staying back after class and rush on assignments. Handed in my statistics assignment yesterday and what a relief, finally done with the 50+ pages assignment! (there's really a lot of data figure in there!) 2 more due end of this month and a presentation which carries marks right after the holiday..guess I'll have it figured out during the break. =/

Seriously, I'm having big time problem with someone these few days and I'm really pisssssssssssssed off at him sometimes and argh, don't know what to say. I need to be patient, patient and patient. Things are getting out of hands, there's so much to do and not to say so little time but if I were to devote all my time for work then can't relax anymore, haha. Just joking, not that serious but really having lots of assignments and presentation to prepare. Collecting and tabulating data is not fun. Doing statistic assignments on stock market is not fun. Reading up to write reports and essays is not fun. Looking back at term 1, it's so relaxing, not much assignments and all there is was tutorial work but term 2 is really different. Not to the extend of hard yet but it's just time demanding.

It's also been a long time since I last watched a tvb drama and I finished watching "7 days in life" yesterday. The concept of this drama is very different from what I've seen so far. In short, a group of travellers which consists of police, thiefs, kidnappers, foreigners and lots more were quarantined inside this hotel for 7 days because 1 of the guest staying in there was diagnosed with H1N1 and thus the story begins. 20 episodes all happened inside the hotel and for 7 days, you get to see lots of event happening in there and overall it was fun watching it.

Oh yeah, sounds irony right when I'm saying that days were getting demanding and then talk about a drama which I watched recently, lol. Pleaseee la, it's not like 20 episodes of drama will take lots of time to finish and I believe no matter how busy people are, sometimes they are just relaxing their ass off but claiming that life is busy and such just because they did a lil' bit of extra work here and there. Another thing which I dont get it is how people can actually compare their studies with others. Whatever is it, if you're loaded with lots of work you don't need to go and tell the whole world that you don't even have time to shit or do other things. You don't have to go around saying that "why is your course so free?", "so little subject 1?", "wah, syok lo you always see you online/playing/having holidays". Excuse me, you stalk them for 24/7? Having their facebook/msn on doesn't mean they stick their face to the monitor all the time. Just stop being a hypocrite.

I happened to come across twitter few months ago and registered an account but never really try it out until today. I personally find that twitter is not so user friendly as compared to Facebook or even the long abandoned Friendster. Of course after awile, you'll get used to the interface but I don't really like it and probably not gonna continue using it. Some of my friends are really heavy tweeters so I thought of giving it a try but too bad it doesn't suit me. Let's just stick to facebook and blogspot.

Went to lowyat plaza with my friends yesterday. It was packed, the reason probably cause of public holiday. Was so tempted to get myself a set of speaker either from edifier or creative but I should control myself better and I did. Besides the speaker, I was also thinking of getting another 500gb external hardisk since the one I'm having now is left only with 14gb of space but but but not like I needed it urgently so I did not get it. When I bought the 500gb external it was like RM 32x and now it's barely touching 200! Maybe I'll get both of them during the upcoming PC fair, which I don't think I'll be able to hold myself down any much longer.

Class were super boring today, too little people attended the morning lecture and even during lunch time some of them were missing. Tutorial was better cause there's a couple of students from other groups joining us. We changed tutor for this sem (sem 2) and I'm not sure whether he is better or not. He's our lecturer but not tutor during first sem and luckily he's not because sometimes his lecture is like pure lullaby and I think majority of the student thinks so. Well, at least he's better during tutorial, not sleepy anymore cause he makes you copy the answer, like pure spoon feeding. He reads and we write. Can't blame him too cause usually when he ask us to give answer, nobody talks. To make things worst, both the tutorial and lecture falls on the same day, which is today...boring-nya.

After class I went to my friend's house and all of us were wondering what to do. Someone said we should gamble and we did. 6 of us got beaten by a girl in blackjack and she won around RM90. At first I won like 10 but then I suffered losing streaks and in the end I ended up losing 14. Dinner afterthat and here I am back at hostel. Gonna be very busy with assignments starting next week and some of it carries a very high weightage for the subject. Mid-term marks was released yesterday (after a month) and it was satisfactory, hopefully can keep it up during finals.......

From the previous post.....
.....we celebrated XY's birthday at a graveyard. wth? It's the one near to MK's house whereby during night there'll be random people drinking beer, that's the one. Whether it's a creepy place or not I'm not sure bout it but definitely a weird place to celebrate someone's birthday. At first we were planning to go Station One but then they called and informed about the change in plan.

The next day we had BBQ at SS's house again. The usual BBQ party we had. It was fun, as usual we bought too much food but in the end managed to finish like 95% of it so I guess it's not too much afterall? Too bad some couldn't attend or else it would be much much better. A lot of things happened in just 1 week of holiday. Penang trip, BBQ party, birthday celebration and CNY.

Chinese New Year was awesome but this year I would say it's alot better. Spent most of my time visiting relative's house, gambling, eating CNY cookies, watching movies etc etc. It was overall fun but too bad the break is way too short. Had to go back on the 4th day of CNY and not to mention the journey back to KL wasn't at all pleasant. The jam was way too horrible and it was my first time being stucked so long in highway. 9 freaking hours and there goes my Sunday. 8am class the next morning *.*.

Penang, movies and birthday celebration!

Came back to Taiping a few days ago and has been hanging out with friends ever since then. The night after I reached, we went for a drink at McD and suddenly a brilliant plan from MK pops out. He suggest that we should go Penang for a walk. So being the very flexible georgians me, jason, chin and xy agrees. Actually the plan never really concluded during the night itself which will be explain soon. The next day which is Saturday, all except XY gathered at chin's house and we were waiting for him but he never turn up even after 1 hour pass the agreed time. Then we received a sms from him asking us whether the plan is still on or not and we were like wtf lol. Well he came 15 mins afterthat so it's ok la. Then sit and talk awile before starting our journey. There's only 5 of us but it was still a fun trip I would say.

Upon reaching Penang, the first thing that came into our mind was food. We went to Lorong Selamat for the fried kuay teow which cost us RM7 per plate but it was nice and not to mention there's quite a number of customer. They had it before and it was my first try, and not too bad I would say but don't think it reflect the price tag attached to it. Next, we went to Gurney Plaza for a movie. Watched Shaolin by Andy Lau, Nicholas Tse and Jackie Chan. For a chinese movie, it wasn't that bad afterall. I wanted to watch Green Hornet but I think most of them wanted to go for Shaolin, so just go with the majority. Anyway, it's definitely a movie worth watching. The movie ended at 7+ and it's time for dinner. We went for western food at this place called Fettes Park. The food there is cheap alright. I ordered a mix combo of chicken chop+grill fish and it only cost me rm10 but the aftereffect wasn't very pleasing at all. After the I-thought-it-was-a-satisfied-dinner, we planned to watch Green Hornet before supper (yay!). Sadly, there's no more ticket as we're quite last minute. Here comes the worst part, I have no idea whether it's the western food or not but me and XY had stomachache right afterthat and no choice, have to use the toilet in the mall and not to mentioned I went twice.

Supper time. We went to some unknown street (i forgot what's the name of the place but it's near to gurney) for prawn noodles and ice kacang. It was around 10.30pm at that time. The prawn noodle was nice, couldn't get it in places like Taiping and KL at all. Ice kacang was ok but I didn't finish it as it was tooooooo sweet. Supper was cheap. 3 for noodles and another 3 for the ice. Actually we plan to go another place for fried osyter but upon reaching there we can't find a parking and decided that we should just go back to Taiping since it's already midnight at that time. During the journey back to Taiping I was asleep for most of the time but there's a time where MK asked Jason to snap a picture of me and chin sleeping and I overhead that, so I told him not to bother cause I'll just turn away. That's all for Saturday.

Nothing special happened during Sunday. A boring typical Sunday indeed. *time skip*

Finally I get to watch Green Hornet in 3D yesterday (Monday) with them. The movie was nice for me, not sure bout the rest but should be at least above average la. Towards the ending of the movie, you could say it's the climax part, the screen suddenly blackout but the sound system was still normal. We couldn't see anything and everyone was like wtf. After waiting for like 5 mins they kinda fixed so we sit back and enjoy our movie. We managed to watch a little bit more this time before it blackout AGAIN! It happened for another time afterthat and we have been hearing the same dialogue and watching the same scene for 3 times. What the heck is wrong with the cinema. They told us it's technical problem blah blah but not till like 3 times la. Thank god everything was fine afterthat, at least I get to watch the ending. If not really am teh, watch movie without ending. Afterthat we celebrated XY birthday. It was 11pm that time and his birthday is gonna end soon. Where did we celebrate again? Hmm...a very weird place indeed. I wouldn't say it's a good place to celebrate someone's birthday (lol). Will continue that in another post and after the celebration, something happened which kinda freaked out everyone for a moment but it was resolved soon after..hahaha..it was damn funny indeed. Can't wait for the BBQ party at seiksan's house tonight =D

First post of 2011..a very short one

Done with my last paper 2 days ago and I thought it was OK. It was a 3 hours accounting paper and there's still about 25 mins left to spare but since my balance sheet was balanced at that point of time, I couldn't think of anything that could go wrong. Overconfidence kills. After the paper ended, my friend were talking about it and I realised that I forgot to depreciate 1 of the machine! It's still balanced though cause I missed out the whole transaction and this causes a freaking chain reaction to my net profits, trial balance and balance sheet. I think this will cost me more or less 10-15 marks. Other than that I guess the paper is fine, hopefully still can score >80.

Having holiday now but not sure whether I'll be going back hometown because of the lousy timetable my uni has. After this 10 days of holiday, that's when term 2 starts but shortly after that (1 week), it's CNY and it means another week of holiday. It's not fun travelling around in train. So most probably I'm not going back for this holiday, my parents are fine with it but the problem is what am I gonna do for the freaking 10 days. Knowing me, I won't study especially its starting of a new term. Guess I'm gonna go into anime marathon mode and it's been a long time since I watch lots and lots of anime in a short duration. Since degree started till now which is about 3 months+, I barely finish <5 series of short life span anime (those between 12-26 episodes).

Anyway it's time for me to relax. Last 2 weeks was tiring, staying back after classes to study with friends and rushing assignment which the due date is on the last day of exam. Exam time still have to rush assignment??!?! Well, at least I'm enjoying degree life now, it's so different from high school and looking back at high school, I don't even bother to touch the textbooks, don't give a damn bout grades and what I know back then was game, game and games. Gaming was everything back then. Now? Don't really care bout games anymore. I guess it's a good thing...lol

Done watching "The World Only God Knows" just now. Yes, anime. Rating wise it'll be around 5/10 I guess. The story is about a guy who is a dating sim gaming freak who play his PFP (it's PSP but they named it PFP) non stop even during class time, he enjoys dating 2D girl behind the screen and he is known as God of Conquest because there is no girl (2D) that he couldn't win over their heart. One fineeeee day, he accidentally made a contract with a demon from hell (she's way too good looking to be called a demon though) and he has to help her to capture loose souls wondering around in some chick's heart and the only way is by winning their heart over. Despite being a god of conquest in games, he has no experience whatsoever in getting a real life girl and sooo he's a bit sceptical bout this mission but he has no choice but to complete it if not he'll lose his head (lol). It was ok throughout the whole series but sometimes it gets pretty boring and the ending is especially not what I expected. They announced a second season in the last episode (12th) and hopefully it'll be better but it's not like I'm anticipating it very much. I looked around at the website rating before decided to watch it but it's....so different from what I imagined.

Merry Christmas to everyone~
My christmas is not really that awesome this year because I'm kinda sick, flu and sorethroat for like 3-4 days already, luckily fever didn't join in the party or else I'll suffer like hell man. Not only I can't celebrate peacefully but I don't think I'll have the mood to study for my January exam. Well, flu and sorethroat didn't stop me from going out though, nor avoiding heaty foods. That's why it got worse and for sorethroat it left me alone but came back again yesterday and this morning I slept till now and still feeling tired.

At least I celebrated christmas eve and for today not sure whether will be going out or not but nevermind, if no plan then at least my wallet won't have a big hole in it. Yesterday went out with my A-levels friend, it was kind of a reunion but only 3 of us, 1 ffk and another went back hometown. So who cares, mini reunion that's it. It was kinda fun la, right after dinner we went to supper straightaway and I'm like freaking full. Came back home and KO-ed at like 1am till now 11am..quite a loing sleep but I think still can continue but better don't. Don't wanna waste my time sleeping but not like I'll take out my book and study so "early" during the day so screw it..wondering what to do for now.

Went out with Jason, William and his other half. They came to find me at Lakeside then we were wondering where to have our lunch at 4pm..lol..couldn't decide. At first thought wanna go to SS15 and eat but at last we didn't and instead we went for steamboat, I'm kinda sick of steamboat actually cause had it like quite often these days but nevermind , just follow since I don't have any better idea. Reached there at like 5pm and luckily they open at 5, so yeah we were like the 2nd or 3rd customer. Quite empty but who cares, we can get our food easier rather than queue-ing up waiting for out turn. What's best there is probably their chicken wing (that's what the majority thinks), because every 20-30 minutes when the wings are being served, it'll be gone within 30 seconds, people there just don't care as long as they get their hands on it. Well for us, can get quite easily cause not much people so we had like DAMN alot of wings even before our soup boils and the next thing you know, I'm quite full already, thanks to the chickens.

So we sit there for like 2-3 hours then went to Jason's house to chill for abit while waiting for Narnia at 9.30pm. We were suppose to enter like 5-10 minutes earlier inside the hall but due to some technical or whatever problem there were having, we ended up standing outside until 9.45 minutes and there were like damn damn alot of people, not to mention it's damn hot and I wonder how J can stand with his jacket. No suprise, lots of people watching movie on Wednesday night and seeing how even 1st row was fully occupied with despo people. Although we bought the ticket like 8 hours earlier we can only get the 8th row which is still below average because the hall is big, probably had like 20+ rows. Narnia wasn't that bad afterall, there isn't much talking scene and the jokes were consider not bad la, especially when it comes from the lil boy name Eustace. After the movie we went back home and I'm like dead tired cause I went out straight after class and so I spent like 14 hours outdoor but nevertheless it was a fun-filled night. Nothing beats hanging out with friends and it'll be even better if it's a friday or saturday night, cause thinking that I'll be having class the next day, the mood is just not right.

Today woke up at 8am trying to finish my work before the class starts at 10 and managed to finish so I went to class without any worries of getting "shoot" from the lecturer (i always finish my work btw! hahaha, just that yesterday was busy hanging out..so yeah...slacked a lil). The weather today was cloudy early in the morning and it rained throughout the day, rain and pause then rain again till about 7-8pm. Went straight to the study room after class ends today with 1 of my friend to finish off some homework and there's some question which I don't really get it so its better to have someone around so I can ask him, haha. Library was like freaking cold today, I wonder if it's really just 16 degree, freezing while in there. Had dinner afterthat with another friend joining us and now here I am after bathing and settled down thinking what to do after blogging. Suddenly felt like submitting a post since it's been like.... dead for a longgggg time.

Tomorrow's Friday and it's a good thing, cause this means that weekend is pretty damn near and well of course this week will be another crazy week with CL,JG and MK coming down for a visit. We planned this like months ago and finally the time has come, never thought they were serious when they started talking about it last time. Don't really have a proper plan on what to do after they come but who cares, plans comes naturally when the time comes. I think MK will definitely bring his camera here so expect some pictures to be posted in facebook. These days he damn like to snap pictures, dont know why..probably got influenced by Kok, lol.

I'll be having midterm during 1st and 2nd week of January and honestly I'm still not prepared yet, still early? Lol, I guess that I should start preparing ASAP cause there's one assignment due during the exam week and the weightage for that assignment paper is quite HIGH! Didn't do guarantee fail and plagiarism is seriously not a nice thing to deal with, cause there will definitely be some plagiarism % because the system will just detect everything and even with proper referencing and quotation it will still contribute to the plagiarism %, haha, so will be quite busy starting next week. Errmmm..I think nothing else to write la...ciaoz..

Tried to sleep, but I couldn't. Maybe I'm just not tired afterall. So here am I again, facing the laptop and even with internet I don't know what to do. Stream anime? Read manga? Just don't have the right mood for that. Worst of all, my hostel blocked all the link related to gaming, so I can't even play something; not even facebook games. Well, at least I won't be addicted to games for now, that's a good thing since I have a lot to catch up in studies =(

Almost finish reading Percy Jackson and the lightning thief (got it from the library). Yeah, it's nice and the novel isn't exactly like the movie, or is it the other way round? There's medusa but they didn't bring along her head with them after defeating her, it was sent to the Olympus as a mockery to the gods to prove that he's no ordinary half blood or at least something like that. I have bad memories when it comes to this, can remember roughly the storyline but definitely not the details. There's some new opponents in the books but not in the movie or maybe they changed it in the movie, I can't recall the movie much! Well, at least it burned away a few hours of my boredom.

Daily routine - dinner

Hmmmmmmm, since SS they all going to watch football at a faraway (walking distance) mamak, I decided not to and join my housemates for dinner instead. It's been a long time since I last ate with them. 3rd week and this is just my second time going out with them (at least not first!). Guess I have to spend some time with them also la, since we gonna live together for at least 1 year.

We went to this restaurant name chic-licious (first time). I think self-order is becoming more of a trend now, they (the owners) saves cost by reducing the number of workers needed and we pay upon ordering, so no running away after eating. Normally a restaurant charge 10% for service charge right? But since we ordered at the counter, they reduced the service tax to "JUST" 5%. Yes, I pay 5% for them to bring my food to my table! My pasta cost 7.90 and another 40 cent for having my food delivered to me. Quite pricey but oh well, just trying out. (Oh btw, it's not really that nice)

I'm sick of reading lengthy journal articles and I have ALOT to catch up in my accounting =(
Almost everyone here had done accounting back in their pre-u/foundation but not me..I'm in the 10% who had never study accounting before...zzz

3rd October - Marks the end of my 3 months+ holidays and I totally enjoyed it to the fullest although from time to time it's A LITTLE bit boring. I can't online often here for now until I get my internet connection which I don't think is anytime soon. Sucks not to be able to online most of the time and surfing the net is like part of my lifestlye, well...everyone's lifestyle to be exact..haha.

4th October - Woke up early in the morning, at about 7am and getting ready for the orientation later at 8.30am. Reached there at 8 to meet with one of my A-levels classmate and we talked a bit, about games, holidays and stuffs. Then some student helper came out from the hall and ask all the freshmen to get inside and collect some documents from some lady. They gave us the timetable, student handbook, academic calender, etc etc. Orientation was pretty boring with all the speeches but nevertheless I had no choice but to listen because there's some important information that I have to take note.

5th - 14th Oct - Lectures and tutorials class was pretty great. Everything is new to me except for Economics. Cool lecturers and some of them are some pro jokers, they really know what the modern generation students want and how to keep them awake for a 2 hours lecture. over 100+ students during lecture session and during tutorials it is separated into 4 groups with about 25-30 students each. Get to know some cool friends from malaysia and indonesia as well, great people and classmates I'm having.

15th Oct (yesterday) - Class was cancelled today because we will be having a team building session for all the July and October business intake students. It will last from 9am-5pm and I'm wondering whether I should attend or not since I'm not really into these kind of stuff but in the end I went =.=". Most of my friends were there anyway, just that we're not in the same group. Lazy to talk more about the team building, just some activities and stuff but it was better than I thought

16th Oct (now) - "Attention to all students, library will be close at 5pm today and all the library services will be terminated at 4.45pm, thank you". Looks like I gotta leave the library soon. The purpose of updating this blog is just to keep track on my progress, well it'll be nice to read all this again in years to come......till then...

Yea, Chen Zhen. The movie is just average for me. Basically the same style as Ip Man 1 and 2. He (Donnie) fought 10 in IP Man 1 at the dojo. Then, he fought ALOT (20-30) at the fish market in IP Man 2. Now as Chen Zhen, he KO-ed more than 50 in a dojo. The number just keep on increasing.

The final scene is expected, another 1 on 1 fight again. You can probably know what's gonna happen. He's losing at first, then he think back about the past, bounce back and finish off his opponent. Yes, you got that right.

Anyway, it's still worth watching. Better than those "horror" movies.

Freaked out

Went for my last dose of Hepatitis B antibody injection this morning. Prevention okay, I'm not a carrier. Come to think of it, I was afraid of needles long long time ago back in primary school. Not now OK!

"Nurse sudah mari, nurse sudah mari". Omg, is it injection or dental check ups? Pain, is definitely not something that we will wish for. Not like I have a choice =(. Scared at first but after injection, go around and boast that, "aiya, not pain at all". Hahahaha. I remember we gonna have BCG in standard 6 but what the heck, our year got cancelled for some unknown reason which I don't bother to know. It's a good thing (for me) that we miss BCG last time, but it's definitely not something to celebrate after knowing that what BCG protects us from.

Dental check ups seems normal, yeah it's normal but not when after a few days someone came into your class and called out your name. "Please go to the hall, nurse is waiting for you". You know something is wrong with your tooth and you just have to face it, deal with it. Got that once before, but luckily it wasn't a painful procedure to go through. Thank God.

Watched a thailand movie just now, Revenge of the King Cobra. I think Pirahna is even better. I can at least laugh when watching Pirahnas. They make revenge of king cobra looks like some horror movie (yes, it's consider a horror movie but not my definition of horror). Throughout the whole show, there's barely 5 minutes of sunlight (yes, i hate it..only the flashback part is film in daylight).
Dark, rainy, thunder, lightning, an old apartment with 7-10 humans and BUNCH of snakes, cobras.
Now you can imagine what's gonna happen to them and how it goes about. END OF STORY. twist-less

I want some nice movies, something like Prince of Persia. Predictable or straightforward story, who cares?? I want adventure! Epic fights FTW!

Slight Update

Not much nice movies around lately. I've watched Pirahna, Resident Evil and Old Cow VS Tender Grass. Mediocre only. I've seen reviews stating that Pirahna and Resident Evil are better in their 3D version but sadly I can't get to watch those in my hometown.

Pirahna was gore and some parts didn't manage to escape the wrath of the censorship board making it the shortest movie I've ever watched. The movie is around 75-80 minutes only. Well, even without censored scene it's still super short. Way less than 100 mins.

Resident Evil is way better than Pirahna but the movie is pretty straightforward and predictable but who cares, just sit back and enjoy the show and effects. Decent storyline at least compare to some other zombie-alike-movie which is practically meaningless except to scare the hell out of you.

On the other hand, Singaporean comedy is still the best. Old Cow VS Tender Grass made my day but the subtitle is out of position and I can't see well. They speak mandarin and hokkien and some mandarin is just too "chim" for me.

Should be leaving for KL on the 30th of Sept. I've had holidays for 3 months already and it seems that time flies. I don't even recall what I did for the past 3 months other than hanging out, movies, animes and games. Starting of degree is a good thing, at least I'm looking forward to touching notes and text books, not to mention homeworks.

For the time being I'm addicted to my PSP again. Waiting for it to fully charge now *sad*. Finished playing Disgaea 2, YS 7 and currently trying to finish Persona 3. Persona 3 is a really really long game compared to what I've played before. Usually can finish 1 RPG in like 20-30 hours of gameplay but I think for Persona I need wayyyyy more than that.

Mooncake Festival

Mooncake celebration is approaching in like another 2 or 3 weeks? Not really sure, have to ask my mum for the exact date, lol. Back in secondary school, I remember that most of us (sgi buddies) gonna gather at Lake Garden at night to join the Taiping crowd playing candle and lantern, did we actually play? haha. I think we just walked around and well it was a beautiful scene and better pray that it won't rain. During that time, you can see lots of family together with their children playing around and it will last for a few days until the actual celebration date.

I wonder will there be any outing to Lake Garden this year? Anyway Mooncake festival isn't complete without mooncake and I already ate 2 last week...left 2 more...lolz.

Merdeka Merdeka Merdeka~

BWF World Championship ended on 29th and yea it was disappointing cause our men double KKK/TBH didn't manage to get a gold medal. Lost to China's Cai/Fu. I didn't get to watch the match, only through livescore and I thought Malaysia gonna win after securing 1st set, guess I was wrong =(. Anyway once a supporter always a supporter! Unlike certain people who only cheer when they are performing great but comdemning here and there as if they could do better =D. They are still young and I'm sure that the day where they get gold for every/some major events will come. Congrats for making to it the final!!

Badminton aside, what have I done for the past 1 week? Lepak, lepak and lepak and yea I think nearly everyday I went out with SS and FM. Where? Cyber Cafe, lol.

We played Left 4 Dead, Fallout 2, Serious Sam. Can't think of any other games. Not bad lah I would say. It's been a long time since I last play L4D and shooting some zombies ain't that bad afterall =D.

Waiting for rescue to save us was fun. Startling witches is not something you would like to do (though I always startled them =.="). Running away from Tank is cool, with 3 others gunning him down! Shotgun + double handgun is the best for me. At the last stage where you have to wait for the rescue to come, you will face a LARGE neverending horde of zombies and that's so annoying, especially when the tank comes.

So what do you do when the rescue arrive? Of course run towards it. Run, just leave your friends behind if you can't make it to their rescue. hahahaha...

We (me,ss,fm,ernwei,karchun) had Pizza for dinner on Tuesday. KC didn't eat though. The bill for 4 people came up to about RM84 and FM wasn't satisfied with the meal. According to him the medium sized pan pizza looks just like a personal size pizza! Probably 1 year didn't dine at pizza hut and in France he had all the giant size pizza, that's why now in Pizza Hut it appears so small to him lol. We ordered 3 regular pizza and as usual those side dishes (soup, drinks and bread). Quite filling for me but definitely not for them. Nevermind, save your stomach for 3 days later. Party at SS's house =D.

It was Friday at 7PM. The host for that day was SS but it's MK who planned the farewell party (again) for FM who is leaving for France the next morning. Everyone contributed RM10 to make the party a successful one.

We bought the food at Tesco. Hotdogs, chicken wings, dory fish, burger patties, eggs and brain-brain. RM 150 ONLY. Consider cheap o-re-di for a party of more than 15. Attendance was so-so, some pilot king is to be expected and yea there are indeed a few. Yiap, just to name one, hahaha. There were enough food for all of us, seriously damn filling with all the meat, meat and meat!!!! We got conned by the aunty into buying 2 packets of charcoal =(. She said 1 isn't enough and 2 also "ngam ngam" only. Turn out we only used less than 1 packet, less as in like only 60-70%.

I ate only ONE chicken wing, not because not enough supply. Just that you know, whenever there's a BBQ party, your chicken tends to get burnt till crisp! Name it charcoal chicken if you want. Some part of the skin is just not edible, unless you wanna kick the bucket earlier or haven't tasted charcoal before and feel like giving it a try or TWO!

Sausages is like normal la, I'm sure most of you all eat till bored already.
Fish = nice, but so oily. The electric pan was contaminated by fish oilllllll.
Burger patties + Eggs, nuff said *yummy*
Brain-brain, if you have no idea what is it then LOL..That's the last thing we swept because it wasn't very..errr.....appealing.

It was a night full with laughter whereby all of us sitting down and joke around. Nothing beats BBQ party with friends, even yum char session cannot "generate" so much "fun". Highlight for that day was "Fat Orchid". Apa tu? Tak boleh lah reveal reveal kat sini, nanti orang perasan susah loh. Kalau nak tau, should've come for the party!

In search for a place...

Will be going down to KL during the Raya holiday week to find a place to stay for the duration of my degree. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a decent single room but its gonna be hard because my intake is the last for this year and given that the campus is new, nobody will be graduating which means that no one will be moving out! If I were to find a twin sharing room, things will work out easier as there will be plenty of them available around the campus but I just don't feel like sharing, I need freedom, I want to switch on or off the light whenever I want, I feel like throwing my stuff around or clean the room when I feel like it! Lol

Before this I was staying at a house in Subang which is to me not a pleasant experience. Why? Because the landlady convert about 70% of the living room into 2 single room. So? Well, she used wooden plank to construct it and not cement+brick. Those who have been to my house before will understand the design. Consequences? Not soundproof!!! and so I can hear my housemate who is living in the room beside me clearly. No, he's not doing any "activity", don't get me wrong. He's just talking with his friends and I can hear them. I don't really mind because I can use my headphone and filter out all his chattering but sometimes he brought his friend back home and they talk, laugh even after midnight. Bro, I need to sleep lah. But it's not ther fault really, they weren't talking or laughing in a VERY loud manner but nevertheless I can still hear them. Oh, and if you're wondering how come they have so much to talk, they drink beer while chatting. That explains why. There's even a time he came back at around 4am and talk as if the world is ending, he should be drunk at that time, I'm pretty sure. I tried hard to get back to sleep, really hard. One thing is that he's a pretty nice person la, friendly also and so I just have to bear with it. Again, its not his fault, thank the non-soundproof room.

And so this time, I'm gonna survey "kao kao" and have a good look at the room before renting it! No more rushing to get a room! Gonna stay for 3 years man, definitely need a decent room. That's all for now, gonna lepak later!

Relief

So I got my results a few days ago, it was a good birthday present from CIE (although a belated one) but still I felt a lot more relaxing after 2 months waiting for it! The night before I couldn't sleep and all I did was to waste time waiting for the result to be released online. When the time comes it's like "Finally" but all the candidate from the whole world is trying to access the website and 1 word, congested. Luckily I was able to access it 20 mins later after non-stop refreshing the same page and re-entering my login/password.

Finally the wait is over and suspense is gone. Registered for my degree course and it's starting on 4th October which is still kinda long way to go but at least I can enjoy my remaining holidays without worries over getting bad results. There's a few things left to do such as to further defer my NS training and to find a place to stay at KL. That's all for now, time to continue watching drama lol.

Fate of scanlations

Apparently manga scanlations activities are being halt due to major copyright issues and they (the publishers) can no longer withstand free mangas being distributed and hosted in websites so warnings have been given and of course sites such as mangafox and onemanga HAVE to abide by it. Surely a sad news for us, manga readers. As for now you can still read the latest chapter of shounen manga (naruto, bleach, one piece) in other websites but no guarantee that they won't close down 1 day, which MIGHT be soon. Finding manga to read online is no longer an easy task and hopefully sites such as Onemanga/Mangafox can come up with a compromise solution together with manga publishers because I dont wanna stop reading Naruto/Bleach/One Piece/Fairy Tail/Detective Conan!!! Mangas is just as interesting as animes~

An international coalition of Japanese and American-based manga publishers have joined together to combat what they call the “rampant and growing problem” of scanlations, the practice of posting scanned and translated editions of Japanese comics online without permission of the copyright holders. The group is threatening legal action against 30 scanlation sites.

The effort brings together the 36 member Japanese Digital Comic Association—which includes such major Japanese houses as Kodansha, Shogakukan and Shueisha—as well as manga publisher Square Enix, the Tuttle-Mori Agency and U.S.-based manga publishers Vertical Inc, Viz Media, Tokyopop and Yen Press, the manga/graphic novel imprint of the Hachette Book Group.

A spokesperson for the coalition said the effort shows that Japanese publishers—who license the majority of manga sold in the U.S.—are taking an aggressive interest in combating manga piracy outside of Japan as well as inside the country. The group charges that the former fan-driven practice of scanlating—begun in the 1970s to scan, translate and post manga online when it was difficult to find manga outside of Japan—has been transformed by “scanlation aggregators,” heavily trafficked, for-profit Web sites that host thousands of pirated manga editions and offer them for free to readers.

According to a spokesperson, these sites are among the most heavily trafficked sites on the web attracting millions of visits each month while earning advertising revenues and even soliciting donations and sometimes charging for memberships. The group also charges that pirated manga is now beginning to turn up on smartphones and other wireless devices through the use of apps developed “solely to link to and republish the content of scanlations sites.”

A spokesperson said that “we are left with no other alternative but to take aggressive action. It is our sincere hope that offending sites will take it upon themselves to immediately cease their activities. Where this is not the case, however, we will seek injunctive relief and statutory damages.” The group is also aggressively reporting violations to the “federal authorities, including the anti-piracy units of the Justice Department, local law enforcement agencies and FBI.” While the group has yet to file any lawsuits and has declined to name specific scanlators, sites such as MangaFox and OneManga have long been identified as major scanlation aggregators.

After several years of booming manga sales in the U.S. that drove the popularity of comics and graphic novels in the traditional book market, sales of manga in the U.S. have declined more than 30% from a high of $210 million in 2007 to $140 million in sales in 2009, according to pop culture news site ICv2.com. Many manga publishers and retailers who used to believe that scanlations actually attracted new readers, now blame the sales decline on the rise of giant for-profit scanlation sites that have allowed a new generation of fans to grow up reading manga for free online.

“Go back 2 years and track these sites and you’ll find an inverse relationship between the rise of traffic on these scanlation sites and the decline in U.S. manga sales,” said Kurt Hassler, publishing director of Yen Press and a former graphic novel and manga buyer for Borders Books and Music. Hassler points out that early fan-driven scanlation sites were aimed at making manga available overseas at a time when English translations of manga were rare. Indeed these fan scanlators would remove their online translations when the books were licensed for the English-language market.

That’s no longer the case, said Hassler. “These sites are run as businesses and include direct scans of licensed English-language manga editions. Some even include our copyright notices. We don’t want to have to do this but publishers are now focused on this problem.”

Read an article today on kids addiction of the internet. Basically it says that kids nowadays spend lots of time surfing the net and this is not good, please control it blah blah and then there's 1 part stating that average malaysian kids spent 64 hours online every month. Daily usage of about 2 hours a day.

Now, I'm wayyyyyyyy above the average because now during holiday i spent like 10-12 hours facing my laptop which means that my total usage is >300 hours. 5 times of a normal average kid. Im doom!

Movies / Dinner

Went for a movie last friday, decided to watch Ong Bak but ended up with Sorcerer's Apprentice. Actually I prefer to watch SA more than Ong Bak but since majority vote for Ong Bak I had no choice but to follow (don't really bother actually because any movie will do). Unfortunately, cinema is not showing that movie anymore so we ended up with Apprentice.

That movie was below my expectation but it wasn't that bad afterall. You won't get excited watching it but you won't get boring either. As I said it wasn't up to my expectation but definitely better than watching Megamovie on TV3. The plot is straightforward and predictable unlike Inception which is another great movie of 2010, something original and interesting at least (you don't get to see this kind of movie often). There wasn't much suspense and doesn't require you to think much so you can shut your mind and enjoy your popcorn. The computer effects was like "to the max" but without it, we won't have Sorcerer's Apprentice. Some humour in between but not enough to get you LOL. If you're planning to watch a movie soon, go for inception first then only sorcerer's apprentice but movie is quite a personal thing and subjective so you might prefer the latter. Just my RM10 worth of view.

Went to Sepetang for FM's reunion and we had our dinner there. The food was pretty decent as always since I went there a few times already and it all taste the same.
Since it was already quite late and its the last call for dishes, they were running out of rice and our first serving of rice was pretty damn small and got all of us going "wtf" and in the end most of us ordered an additional bowl of rice which is like double the amount of the first serving. We had prawns, fish, vegetables, tofu, "lala" and some mini dishes (mini crab, mini prawn and when I say mini its really mini). There were 15 of us and the bill came up to a total of 230+ if I'm not mistaken. After eating we had group photo but it's up to KL to post it on Facebook. Reached taiping at around 11 and we met up with JG, Chin and Jason. First at Starbucks then at Tai-o till around 1am. Went home, bath, online and sleep. Both Friday and Saturday also lepak till 1am+ which is definitely not an example of a good son since most of our parents keep calling to ask when are we going back..hahaha

If you're wondering whether it is nice or not, I would say yes. Worth to give it a try although a bit expensive and no its not big. RM 12.50 for a regular set.

So....the 4 year once event is gonna end soon and I'm happy that RTM 1 is broadcasting it for the convenience of Astro-less people like me. I guess most of my friend is supporting Spain according to their facebook post and so do I, hopefully they win against holland but doesn't matter much since I'm a supporter of England which got knocked out by Germanyyyyy which got their 3rd placing after struggling with Uruguay but this proves that Paul the octopus is once against victorious and will continue the clean record for this world cup. BTW, today is seriously damn boring and I don't even know what to do. Nothing interesting is happening around me lately except for playing dota with my friends which is definitely not something that I can blog about.

Looks like it'll be Spain against Holland in the final. That game was worth my time watching afterall with Germany being not superior enough against Spain and their counterattack tactics didn't work either, hahaha.

Was playing pokemon for 2 days and successfully trashed the elite four but the save game corrupted right after that, it seems that I can't beat the elite four if I want to continue playing it but certain content are only available after beating them. argh! wasted 2 days time..=.=

Another week

I've been spending 2 weeks in Taiping so far and to be honest it's quite boring at times, especially now which is 2.20am and having nothing in mind. How did I spend my 2 weeks? Sleep till noon ALMOST EVERYDAY, lunch, read newspaper, watch anime, watch tv drama, sometimes hangout at Webzone (CyberCafe) which is undeniably an awesome place *at least for me it is*, play PSP, supper with family, FACEbook, MSN, foruming etc etc etc. Don't feel jealous, it's darn boring seriously. At least I signed up for Celcom Broadband or else can't even online at home which is gonna be S-U-F-F-E-R-I-N-G. Even if I have nothing to do, leaving MSN and Facebook on somehow feels nicer even in my sleep. Too bad broadbands have download cap limit (which includes loading a webpage and streaming from sites like YouTube, stream more on YT and say bye bye to your monthly limit cap and have them throttle down your speed to that of a turtle) and the speed is not as fast as Streamyx. Not to mention broadband is definitely not a good choice for online gaming because of the superb high latency, due to this problem I can't play DoTA at home to kill my time. Well, it's better than NOTHING I guess....should be grateful..thanks CELCOM but I'll remain loyal to DIGI :P

Anyway I should stop complaining on how boring my holiday is...enjoying this current holiday is what I really should do, who knows when I start studying again it'll be me who begs for more holiday (which is I think..err...definitely will).

Chin left for USM 2 days ago (all the best in your 1st year degree) Having "yum char" session at Prima together with MK, Kok, YC, CL and XY was nice, the tart was nice too and Chin owes us a plate of "loh bak" which overdue for weeks already. There's a tricky part to this "yum char" thingy which I think is pretty well known for us Malaysians. Punctuality. When someone (MK) says 6.00pm, that someone (MK) actually meant 6.30pm, probably his "3" spoilt and couldnt press it so he replaced it with a 0, but it's ok because most of the time he will be the second to arrive after me at 6.30 if you get what I mean. Another fun part was "sms me when you reach" which probably translate to "sms me when you reach, that's the time i'll start my journey". Since then I realized that our timezone was pretty much different so I stopped being punctual because the host tells me that "6pm at prima, don't be so punctual" after several times waiting for them.
Sorry MK, no offence..haha, dont know what to write ma, suddenly thought of this...don't emo ya? hahaha.

Watching England VS Germany at McD with CL, Chin and William was nice but the match outcome wasn't. From Prima to McD which lasted for about 5 hours, we talked loads of crap at Prima together with MK too but he didn't make it to the football match because he had to be a good boy and watch with his father. During the match, Germany player blocked quite some balls and William labelled them as "big ass". Actually McD is better than AR because AR is way too packed and people smoking their big lungs out which can cost my nose to run just like those football players. 1-0, 2-0, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1..bye McD, went back home bath, rest and straight to wonderland.

CL left for USM.
XY, CL, SC, CR, EW came back.
XA, FM coming back real soon.

Looks like its bye bye to hot favourites Brazil and Argentina, both getting knocked out in quarter finals by Holland and Germany respectively. Looking forward to July 6 and July 7 where Uruguay will clash against Holland and Germany (hopefully against Spain)! Will spain win against Paraguay later at 2.30am? I sure hope so!

New Start

Creating another blogspot just for the sake of fun. Hopefully by creating a new blog I'll be able to blog more often since I'm having a very long holiday from studies and currently doing nothing at home. I've been drifting from one blog to another but can't keep the blogging spirit high and the old blog being abandoned and instead of updating the old ones, here I am creating another *this is crazy*. Wondering what to do everyday and I honestly miss the days where I used to attend classes from as early as 8am although usually the feeling of going to class sucks but damn, it's better than sleeping till noon or sometimes past-noon everyday now!
